Today, I entered the restaurant and sat by the window facing towards Madison Avenue. As I looked at the menu, there were many specialty French dishes from quiches to tartines ( open faced sandwiches). Might I add the le pain quotidien means ”the daily bread”. Not only did everything look appetizing and refreshing but it was very fresh and organic. The bread is made on site which also came as a surprise to me and might I add I did have a taste of their baguette and sour dough bread and both were very soft and fresh. The fact they also offered pressed juices just delighted me even more. They stood true to French cuisine by offering a cheese board and baguettes as a menu option. I ended up choosing a Swiss and turkey quiche with a green salad.
We also decided to order a bottle of wine, which after six all their wines are half off so you get a $20 bottle of wine for $10. Not a bad deal at all! One thing that I have to add that the service was excellent! Very attentive and paid close attention. About twenty minutes after ordering, our food arrived. The presentation alone is enough to entice you!
My quiche was amazing very cheesy and fulling while the salad was filled with radish and shredded carrots with a light dressing was a great compliment to it. I did have bite of my boyfriend’s croissant and it was very tasty as well. The different spreads they offered him ranged from Dijon mustard to an olive paste which was our favorite. The red wine was very smooth and just the right amount of sweet! For dessert we had a Belgian chocolate brownie which was very thick and rich.
