I had been wanting to try Georgian food for a very long time. Since I love meditteranean food, I knew that I would enjoy the cuisine since they shared some of the same tastes and flavors with using similar ingredients. I was going to be close to Coney Island, I decided to try and find a Georgian restaurant and I did! The place I decided on was called “Oda House”. When you first walk to the restaurant, it’s located right on the avenue. Seeing as we were one of the first one’s to come and eat, they allowed us to sit outside and the weather was perfect. When looking at the menu, it helped that all the dishes were in detail and had pictures to accompany it. We decided instead of ordering individual dishes it be better to order the appetizer platter.

It wasn’t until after we had already ordered that we realized it was for four people. None the less we enjoyed every bit of it. Pictured above:

Qartuli Salad: tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, vinegar, olive oil and basil. Then a chicken salad, that they boil the chicken and has a homemade mayonnaise with garlic and cilantro sauce. A phkali trio, which is ground walnuts along with spinach and leeks and Georgian spices and herbs finished with pomegranate seeds. As well, with spinach and green bean dips with a walnut sauce that you can eat alone or use the fresh, sautéed corn bread know as mchadi they make to eat with it along with home made sulguni, homemade Georgian cheese. Along with a red bean salad mixed with herbs and spices. Every single item on the platter was better than the next and surprisingly healthy and nutritious as most of it is vegetables and nuts.

Along with Khinkali, the largest dumplings I have ever eaten and handmade as well. The plump and flavorful dumplings are great and I especially like the lamb inside.

These were simply delicious in every bite!

Situated right by the marina, it’s a nice place to go for a walk after your meal! Enjoying the view with your meal! I definitely will be returning to try more items off the menu! To try their cocktails that I didn’t have the pleasure of tasting any. All the more reason to return to Oda House, great place to try a new cuisine.
